Solution

You will need to ascertain as to what version of MS Office you are using and what version of Windows you are running. This solution covers the following :-

1. Office 2016 (32-bit) on a 32-bit version of Windows
2. Office 2016 (32-bit) on a 64-bit version of Windows
3. Office 2016 (64-bit) on a 64-bit version of Windows

Follow the instructions below, typing the appropriate command depending on your system.

• Open a command prompt as Administrator
• In the command prompt, type one of the following:

1. Office 2016 (32-bit) on a 32-bit version of Windows
   1. cscript “C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice16OSPP.VBS” /dstatus
2. Office 2016 (32-bit) on a 64-bit version of Windows
   1. cscript “C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice16OSPP.VBS” /dstatus
3. Office 2016 (64-bit) on a 64-bit version of Windows
   1. cscript “C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice16OSPP.VBS” /dstatus

You will then see a screen similar to the one below. On your screen make a note of the “Last 5 characters of installed product key:”. (There could be a few of these.)

Now in the command prompt, type one of the following and in the place of REPLACE WITH LAST 5 CHARACTERS (note: delete this text) type in the last characters of your product keys. You will need to do this for each of the product keys listed.

Once you have completed this for all the product keys, close the CMD Prompt and reboot the pc.
